Wolfram has a new runtime environment for Mathematica applications named Mathematica Player Pro. Player Pro gives access to any Mathematica-6-based files, allowing full interaction with Mathematica's capabilities such as performing adaptive visualization, controlling dynamic interface elements and connecting to real-time data. Developers can now build applications in Mathematica and deploy them cost-effectively via Player Pro. Until now, developing with Mathematica has almost always meant deploying with Mathematica but using the free Player and Player Pro, it’s now possible to deploy to almost anyone.

Player Pro marries convenient deployment with Mathematica's math and rapid application development environment--an ideal combination for workgroups, consulting teams, researchers, commercial application builders, and others looking to roll out dynamic solutions, whether to clients or across their own organizations.

"Mathematica is famous for math, but not yet for application development," said Conrad Wolfram, director of strategic and international development at Wolfram Research. "I expect that to change: Player Pro completes Mathematica 6's revolutionary development workflow, making application building practical or possible in so many cases where it hasn't been before."

Player Pro complements the existing free Mathematica Player, released as a beta in 2007. Technical differences include Player Pro's abilities to import or export user data at runtime, provide dialog-box entry, and run an almost-complete range of Mathematica applications.

Player Pro is compatible with Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux (x86 2.4 or later). The suggested commercial price is US$195.
