November 24, 2008 Fever is a common symptom of many childhood illnesses, usually those of an infectious nature. The problem for parents is that there is a plethora of ways to measure a child’s temperature; from digital thermometers which are used rectally, orally or under the arm, to ear thermometers or pacifier thermometers. Not only that, but you have to hold your child still while you insert the thermometer and then while you wait for a reading. Not particularly easy when your child is unwell and not happy about where you have just inserted the thermometer!

The Lunar Baby Thermometer designed by Duck Young Kong, is a simple yet effective solution to this problem. The thermometer utilizes the common technique of holding one’s hand on a child’s forehead to check for a fever.

Ergonomically shaped to fit neatly and securely into your hand, the thermometer delivers a fast and accurate temperature measurement. After it is placed on the forehead, you will hear a beeping sound and the flashing LED screen will indicate that the reading is complete. The temperature can then be easily viewed on the LCD screen.

As Duck Young Kong so brilliantly notes, you can check “the child’s temperature without uncomfortable placing of glass sticks in places of discontent.”
