LG has announced that it will be showing off its new LTE-capable tablet/ultrabook at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. First seen at CES last month, the appropriately-named Tab-Book Ultra Z160 runs a full version of Windows 8 and is powered by a 3rd generation Intel Core i5 processor.

An enhanced version of LG's Atom-powered H160, the new hybrid will be available in two processor configurations. The 286 x 192 x 19.4-mm (11.25 x 7.5 x 0.7-inch), 1.25 kg (2.75 lb) GH5WK version is powered by a Core i5 processor running at 1.8 GHz (which can be ramped up to 2.7 GHz with Turbo Boost technology) supported by a generous 120 GB of SSD storage and 4 GB of DDR3 RAM.

At the press of a button to the side, the device's mechanism pushes the 11.6-inch, 1366 x 768 resolution, IPS LED multitouch display panel back and up to lock at a comfortable viewing angle, while also revealing the slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

There's a 1.3-megapixel webcam, one USB 3.0 and one USB 2.0 port, and HDMI for display of content on a bigscreen TV. A mini-RJ45 offers wired connectivity, 802.11n Wi-Fi and a 4G LTE modem take care of getting online wirelessly, and a microSD card slot satisfies storage expansion needs.

Completing the specs are two 0.5 W speakers pumping out HD audio with SRS Sound, Intel HD 4000 shared graphics, and a Li-pol battery that's reported to offer over six hours of use.

The GH30K appears to differ only in the processor powerhouse, having a Core i3 also running at 1.8 GHz.

The Tab-Book Z160 Ultra will get released in Korea this week, ahead of more widespread availability in the near future.
