No one could accuse the standard Lamborghini Huracan of being tame. The standard car's 610 hp (455 kW) V10, coupled with Lamborghini's instantly recognizable angular styling make it a fast, engaging showstopper. But what if you want to go racing? And what if all-wheel drive is a little bit safe for you? Lamborghini may just have the answer in the form of the lightweight, track-ready Huracan 620-2 Super Trofeo.

While the standard Huracan wasn't slow, Lamborghini has given the 2,800 lb (1,270 kg) Super Trofeo an extra 10 hp (7 kW), which bumps peak power up to 620 hp (462 kW). To keep the car in line with its potential GT3 competitors, Lamborghini has also removed the car's all-wheel drive system so that all 620 horses are directed to the rear-wheels. The lightweight body and boosted V10 combine to give the Super Trofeo a weight to power ratio of 4.5 lb/hp.

To put that power to the ground, the Super Trofeo runs a set of Pirelli tires that were specially designed for this car. Pirelli's sticky tires, coupled with a new aero kit, should make the Super Trofeo as quick in the corners as it looks. Developed with Italian racing chassis manufacturer Dallara Automobili, the car features a 10-position rear wing that allows teams to tune the aero package for individual circuits.

Along with the bigger rear wing, the 620-2 Super Trofeo has more aggressive front and rear diffusers, as well as adjustable front air intakes.

The lightweight Huracan will compete in the 2015 Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series across Asia, North America and Europe, where Lamborghini R&D; director Maurizio Reggiani says it should be "as fun for fans to watch" as it is "rewarding" for the drivers.
