The 99th anniversary of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) will see a dedicated mobile app for the event available for the first time. Developed by KSTechnologies (KST) and available for mobile devices running Apple’s iOS 8.2 orlater, the app will provide heaps of customizable information before, duringand after the race.

Designedfor any iPhone, iPad or iPod touch that runs at least iOS 8.2, and complemented by a dedicated Apple Watch version, the PPHIC app has a lot to offer to the race fan.Real time race results classified in vehicle divisions, racer profiles and adetailed spectator guide will keep fans well informed, regardless whetherthey are attending the race or just following it from the other side of the world. On siteinterviews and videos from vehicles equipped with an on board camera will be postedin-app as soon as they become available.

If you have specific competitors you want tokeep a closer eye on, the customizable Favorites section will cater to you with push notifications relating to your racers of choice.

Especiallyfor those who will be attending the race, the iBeacon-compatible app has somemore features on offer. During the Fan Fest, to be held in the evening ofFriday, June 26 at downtown Colorado Springs, and the race day on Sunday, June28, your iOS device will identify every vehicle bearing iBeacon technology thatis near you, even if you are not connected to the internet at the time.

Thepartnership between PPIHC and KST comes with a component of regional interest. Thecreation of this app and every technological aspect relating to it occurred in Colorado Springs,Colorado, by KST and their key manufacturing partner, Linear Manufacturing.

The PPIHCapp is already available in Apple’s App Store, costing €4.99 (US$5.5) inEurope. Unfortunately, It is not available for any other operating system.
