Jerkstopper prevents AC connector damage

The weakest link in the hardware chain bringing charge to you laptop is usually the power cord input - anyone who has ever damaged the connection and been left with spontaneous power-downs, or with a cord that only functions on a specific angle, will be familiar with this problem. This simple and affordable Cable Retention Device (CRD) from Jerkstopper is aimed at protecting this weak spot by providing an extra stay and reducing the likelihood of accidental - and expensive - bumps to the power cord.

The is designed to utilize any existing port, JerkStopper fits all laptop computers equipped with either an RJ11 (modem), RJ45 (network) or USB Port as a stay or restraint to keep the very fragile AC power connector from being damaged (USB ports are the least attractive solution because they are not positive lock).

The mobility of a laptop means that we tend to be a little rough with them and a protruding power connector often bears the brunt of it. Repairs to this connector can range from $100 to $250 or more if it needs replacing.

Filling the same role as magsafe connectors for Mac laptops, the US$9.95 price includes three JerkStoppers (1 each USB, RJ45 & RJ11), a metal RoadWarrior travel case. See Jerkstopper for details.
