This year’s Festival of Speed is almost upon us and as usual, a stellar array of go-fast-gear will assemble to take on the famous 1.16-mile Goodwood Hill. Among the highlights will be the GTbyCitroën, an outlandish concept car designed for the virtual world of Gran Turismo 5 that first appeared in its real world guise at the 2008 Paris Motor Show.

The 4.96m long, futuristic supercar concept has already made an impression on European motor racing fans, completing laps of honor at both the Nürburgring and Le Mans 24 hour endurance races.

We're not expecting the GTbyCitroën to trouble the time-keepers when it tackles the Goodwood Hill as part of the Sunday Times Supercar Run in just over two weeks time, but with its 21-inch, diamond-effect, aluminum wheels, large wraparound windscreen and unashamedly exaggerated lines, we expect it will turn more than a few heads.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed runs from 3-5 July 2009 - we can't wait!
