GoPro's Hero actioncams may already be pretty small, but when compared to things like the Polaroid Cube ... well, they almost look big. Soon, however, consumers will be able to buy the diminutive Hero4 Session, which is 50 percent smaller and 40 percent lighter than the existing Hero4 Black and Silver models.

Using the camera's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, users first set it up via an iOS/Android app or the optional Smart Remote – shooting modes include 8MP single, burst and time-lapse stills, along with video at resolutions of 1080p/60fps, 720p/100fps and 1440p/30fps.

From there, one press of the Session's single button both powers it up and sets it recording (if shooting video), with a second press stopping the recording and powering it down – like the single-button mode on existing GoPros. One charge of the camera's battery should be good for up to two hours of shooting.

Additionally, unlike the other Hero models, this one is waterproof without an additional housing. It can only be submerged down to 33 ft (10 m), however, unlike the 131-ft (40-m) maximum depth of the other Hero4's.

Another one of its unique features is a two-mic audio recording system, in which the camera automatically switches between those two mics in order to minimize wind noise.

The GoPro Hero4 Session will be available starting July 12, priced at US$400. Footage shot with it can be seen in the video below.

Prices start at $400? Nothing small about that!

It's expensive but it's the perfect size for a helmet cam.

@Daishi Check Polaroid Cube available just only 99$ with same size.
