Article Summary

September 3, 2007 UPDATED - NEW IMAGES - Casio has used the IFA expo in Berlin to unveil a prototype design of what can be reasonably expected to be the world’s fastest digital camera. Though its key specs are nothing special - 6.0 megapixels and 12x optical zoom with image stabilization - the prototype has a new high speed CMOS sensor and high speed LSI image processing chip and can shoot still images at a remarkable 60 frames per second and VGA resolution movies at 300 frames per second, offering ultra-slow motion replay to non-professionals for the first time.
