December 5, 2006 The world is changing rapidy with remote workers now the norm in many companies, and the enterprise collaboration industry on the rise thanks to fear of flying and productivity benefits on offer. But while virtual meetings are a great idea, they’re not quite there yet with the audio component of high-end conferencing systems – participants on the far end hear extraneous ambient noises while those on the near end are tethered to a central device, limiting mobility and natural meeting dynamics. Revolabs was founded in 2005 with a mission to develop, produce and market secure wireless microphone systems that seamlessly integrate with professional conferencing solutions. The company’s latest announcement is a wireless boundary microphone. The new Solo Tabletop Wireless Boundary Microphone is designed for conference rooms and collaborative spaces and offers an unprecedented level of freedom to room layout and design.

“The Solo Tabletop solves many of the issues with current boundary microphone offerings.” Martin Bodley, President and CEO of Revolabs said. “Soon after we introduced our Solo wireless microphone products, people began asking us to solve the problems with existing tabletop offerings. Leveraging the innovative and breakthrough capabilities of the Solo Products, the Solo Tabletop provides unprecedented flexibility while addressing RF interference issues, security concerns and most obviously the absence of wires.”

Revolabs products contain MaxFlex technology which allows any combination of up to 16 (24 in Europe) Solo Wearable and Tabletop microphones in a single area. The small form factor and features like rechargeable batteries and data encryption make the Solo Tabletop microphone a truly breakthrough product in the industry.

“Today’s team rooms and collaborative spaces are being used for a variety of reasons including small teleconferences, video conferencing, project meetings, large town hall presentations, training sessions, panel discussions and webcasts.” said Martin.

The new Solo Tabletop microphone is compatible with either the Solo Executive 4 or 8 Channel Systems, or the stand alone Solo Desktop system. The Desktop’s base serves as both a charger and receiver which can be routed into a room’s audio system or USB port of a computer.

Each Solo Tabletop microphone, measures .9” x .8” x 2.6”. Additional features include_· Range of 30 m.
