Each of the featured technologies is seamlessly integrated into the vehicle and adaptable to virtually any in-car work or entertainment situation.”
Located in an innovative, space-saving overhead platform created for the Scion, Visteon’s Dockable Entertainment featuring Game Boy Advance combines the performance and versatility of Visteon’s first portable premium in-vehicle entertainment system with a video game platform that has sold nearly 300 million games worldwide. Its lightweight (2.5 pound) flip-down media player – featuring a large, 10.2-inch screen – can be undocked in a matter of seconds for use at home, in another vehicle or nearly any another location.
Visteon’s HD Jump is a transportable receiver that docks into a cradle in the vehicle. An optional home kit allows the receiver to also be used with a home stereo. The HD Jump offers the full spectrum of HD Radio features, including program associated data, such as real-time song title, artist and album information, as well as multicasting, where available. The clarity of HD Radio technology allows FM stations to be enjoyed with CD quality sound and boosts AM quality up to that of FM sound. More than 1,000 radio stations now broadcast HD Radio signals in the U.S. with over 400 offering new formats on HD2 channels.
The new Visteon Wireless Charging Concept, located in the Scion’s center console, allows users to charge an iPod, cellular phone, PDA or any other compatible device that permits wireless charging. The system does not interfere with the operation of other electronics in the Scion.
The Hands-Free Phone Kit integrates cell phone functions into the vehicle’s audio system through a user-friendly, dash-mounted LCD (liquid crystal display) console. This technology enables voice recognition and several other advanced calling features designed to enhance user convenience and comfort while in the car.
The innovative Visteon Ultra-Violet LED (light emitting diode) Instrument Cluster adapts accordingly for the work-by-day, play-by-night theme using ultra-violet LEDs that reveal the cluster appliqué’s invisible inks.
Visteon’s Boston Acoustics Audio System upgrade replaces the original equipment speakers with premium aftermarket speakers and adds a trunk-mounted subwoofer and subwoofer amplifier.
In addition to the latest Visteon original equipment and aftermarket technologies, the Scion demonstration vehicle benefits from leading-edge solutions from several other respected aftermarket suppliers. These technologies include an HKS Turbocharger Kit, Suspension and Exhaust System, Toyo Tires mounted on 18-inch Motegi Wheels, JP USA Body Kit, and premium Recaro Sport Seats. The vehicle received a custom exterior finish at Farmington Hills (Mich.) Collision Center, utilizing an exclusive new Pro-Spray Clearcoat technology.
