The Peugeot brand has been associated with some great coupes over the years - cars such as the 404, 504 and 406 coupes have become icons of their time. Today a new Peugeot 407 Coupé took to the stage for the first time and will carry on that tradition of exclusive style and elegance. The 407 Coupe is a large Grand Tourer that can easily accommodate four passengers and all their luggage and will make its world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

The 407 coupe will be available at launch with three engines: 2.2 litre 16 valve petrol developing 160bhp 3.0 litre V6 24 valve petrol developing 211bhp 2.7 litre V6 24 valve HDI Diesel with Particulate Emission Filter developing 205bhp

All three engines will be fitted with either manual or automatic six speed gearboxes dependent on the model and all coupes will feature a double wishbone front suspension with integral multi-arm rear suspension and exceptional torsional rigidity to guarantee optimal driving pleasure.

High levels of standard equipment result in the coupe bristling with technology: front and rear parking assist, ‘directional headlights’, auto wipers and headlights, digital climate control with hygrometer to name just a few features.

A comprehensive safety package will be fitted as standard: ABS, ESP, traction control, emergency brake assist, six airbags, active front head restraints

More details in September.
