May 16, 2005 - Three major World Championship events were held on the weekend - Rounds 5 & 6 or the World Touring Car Championship, Round 6 of the World Rally Championship and Round 4 of the World MotoGP Championship. The biggest news of the weekend was the incredibly strong rumour that the World's best motorcycle rider, Italian Valentino Rossi, is headed for Formula 1. While the story emanated from Italy and looks like a "beat up" some interesting facts emerged, most importantly that Rossi is almost certainly considering the future beyond motorcycle racing and Formula 1 looks to be his next challenge.
