ActiveLight will launch a 40 inch touch screen LCD integrated touch screen at the Digital Retailing Expo in Chicago on May 18, 2005. To be known as the Tactive, the screen will be sold exclusively through ActiveLight for US$7,999 and includes ActiveLight's value-added support solutions and product guarantees. ActiveLight will feature the new screen in its booth, number 611, at the Digital Retailing Expo May 18-19 at the Navy Pier Exhibition Center in Chicago. The booth will include a working installation of a true digital signage application using the TActive LCD.

“This is another step forward for the digital signage industry, and ActiveLight is once again pleased to be involved,” said Brad Gleeson, president and COO of ActiveLight, Inc. “Interactive displays are becoming increasingly popular, and Display Werks has created a breakthrough LCD that will lead the way for more innovative digital signage applications.” Designed for use in digital signage installations, the TActive is well suited for a variety of industries, including retail, financial, airport and restaurant applications. The TActive supports multiple video inputs, features 1280 x 768 high resolution and high quality video performance, and offers a 170-degree or better viewing angle. With the appropriate software the display can be used in both portrait and landscape modes, and allows the whole screen or just parts to be touch sensitive. Compared to a plasma display, the LCD quality reduces the chances of image burn-in. “Display Werks is committed to designing and manufacturing the latest in advanced display technology, and we have accomplished this with the TActive LCD,” said Mark Harriman, president of Display Werks. “ActiveLight is a recognized leader in the digital signage industry, and with the endless installation options made possible by the TActive, we're offering ActiveLight's dealers and resellers another way to meet their customers goals.”

ActiveLight offers expert advice on digital signage solutions, and distributes a full range of digital signage products, including hardware, software, displays and components from leading manufacturers.
