Mercedes Benz to celebrate 50 years of Mercedes Sports

Mercedes-Benz is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the legendary SL-Class sports car by introducing an exclusive special model, the "Edition 50."

The SL-Class was first presented to the public in 1954 at the International Motor Sports Show in New York (February 6 - 14, 1954).

The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL and 190 SL sports cars were designed at the instigation of the American importer Maximilian Hoffman who had been urging the company to come up with light and dashing sports cars for his customers.
