An environment of suspended "spaces", CloudNine is a new structural system based on tension (cables) instead of Compression (columns), built exclusively for the November Chicago Design Show. The enormous strength of tensioned steel allows thick columns to be replaced with very thin non-rigid cables, leading to a design of openness and lightness. The ingenious design ensures that the spaces are well supported and are held completely motionless in mid-air.
