Since the advent of compact digital cameras, tiny tripods (or minipods, or whatever you want to call them) have become a pretty common sight. They're often even included as part of a digital camera package, along with the ubiquitous lens-cleaning cloth. Given that they appear to be a popular tool, Gerber has done the obvious, and built one into its new Steady multitool.

The Steady features a fold-out standard-size screw mount on one side, along with two legs that fold out on the other (the base of the tool acts as the third leg).

According to GearJunkie, the multitool won't be coming out until next year. Details on what other tools it contains aren't available, although the company has reportedly stated that there will be a total of 12, one of which will be a blade. Who knows, perhaps it will also have a fold-out lens cloth ..?

The Gerber Steady multitool should sell for US$65.
