Images Gallery User Comments (2)Yes, isn't it a shame that the U.S. lost interest in the concept before perfecting it. Small companies here who have good PRT designs can't attract development funding because transit agencies can't afford to invest in R&D -- of course it's not their job. The WVU system was funded in the 1970s by the federal government. So far Obama seems reluctant to send extra funds to conventional transit, much less "new" technologies. Europe and Abu Dhabi are probably going to be the leaders in this alternative transit technology.

This is very similar to the PRT system that they already use at West Virginia University.
