What's up Boeing? or should I say "Cyberdyne Systems"! Haha
I always thought it foolish for the government to abandon such a matured product from Boeing. Why not keep it idling with a few hundred g's studying manufacturing processes or something until a need presents itself. The same argument could be made for Boeing's JSF entry. Wow, the government had two very mature planes that could do the job. Yet they forced a decision to go to one much too soon. The resulting failure of the Lockheed F-35 to perform on a budget or timeline illustrates that the risk was still there. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1kNszWU7hTw watch how Lockheed merely gets a slap on the wrist for a ludicrous oversight early on.
I believe in Boeing's product as much as they do. I still couldn't believe that the government went with a radically different version of the X-47 that wasn't even flown. It probably will work considering it appears an x-45 with a purposeful angle to it's otherwise Boeing-esque delta wing and air intake.
