Sony's feature packed HX-1 Cyber-shot camera includes sweep panorama mode

Loaded with all the latest technology that Sony could muster, the HX1 Cyber-shot camera unveiled at PMA 2009 features 1080p video capability, 10 frames per second shooting, a 20x G series zoom lens and the company's new Exmor image sensor and BIONZ processor. It's also Sony's first camera to include sweep panorama - a mode that captures 224-degree horizontal or 154-degree vertical panorama's by moving the camera in a continuous sweeping motion. FUJIFILM demonstrates 3D camera, 3D photo viewer, and 3D printing technology

Among the display of new camera models at PMA 2009 FUJIFILM demonstrated a compelling 3D photo and movie technology, that uses a dual lens/sensor camera to record 3D images. These images can then be played back without the need for special glasses on a digital display, or even printed. Both the display and prints generate their 3D effect by use of a special lenticular lens laminated to their surfaces. Read More

Nokia unveils N86 8-megapixel cameraphone with Carl Zeiss optics

It looks like Nokia has pulled out all the stops in delivering a potentially paradigm shifting N86 cameraphone with a camera that they claim has SLR-like optics and is good enough to replace your current compact digital one. With 8GB of internal storage, and a lens system from Carl Zeiss, this device can capture still images at 8 megapixels, as well as 640x480 video 30 frames per second. The camera has a F2.4 aperture (so it's able to handle low light conditions) and includes a high intensity dual LED flash. Nokia is also using the internal GPS in the device to geo-tag all the photos. Read More
Nokia releases new E series messaging phones: the E55 and E75

Nokia has announced two new E series messaging devices; the E55 and E75. Both devices feature 320x240 displays and Series 60 Symbian OS and build upon the excellent E71 device Nokia released last year. The E55 device has a"two letter per key" keyboard similar to the Bleackberry Pearl that it's targeted to compete with while the E75 includes a slide out QWERTY keyboard as well as an exterior 12 key keypad and is aims to be the successor of Nokia's iconic Communicator devices. HTC announces 2nd generation Touch Diamond2 and Touch Pro2

HTC has announced their next generation Windows Mobile smartphones. The two devices announced, the HTC Touch Diamond2 and HTC Touch Pro2, are both Windows Mobile 6.1 devices, but meet the new minimum hardware specs for compatibility with the upcoming Windows Mobile 6.5 release. Field Tested: Lenovo's dual screen Thinkpad W700ds

Lenovo's W700ds has an ingeniously concealed second screen built into the lid that "pops out" via a spring loaded mechanism. There's also a laundry list of features including a built in webcam, fingerprint scanner, 5 USB ports, a FireWire port, a DisplayLink port, both VGA and DVI graphics, big bright 17" 1920x1200 display, 2 ExpressCard slots, an SD card reader, and couple of features that are rather specific to high end photography and graphics design.
